Even current Formula One drivers regularly take tuition to stay ‘ahead of the game’, so why could Mike Wilds be of help to you?

Mike can pass on a wealth of experience gained racing at World Class level over the past few decades!

WHO IS MIKE WILDS?

Mike drove World Championship Formula One for BRM and Ensign in the 1970’s, has won 12 British Championships in single seaters and sports cars, won the Group C2 Team World Championship with Ecurie Ecosse in 1986, competed in eleven 24 Hour Races including the famous Le Mans 24 Hour Race seven times, has driven in the British Touring Car Championship, provides tuition for manufacturers such as BMW, Lexus, FIAT, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz and Porsche plus Mike still currently competes in the European Endurance ‘Britcar’ Championship.

With all this experience on track Mike can teach you techniques that will not only improve your basic driving skill but also your mechanical sympathy and your ability to drive smoothly, quickly and most importantly more SAFELY.

In 2007 two of Mike’s clients Simon Leith and Steve Bell had their first season of racing in Britcar in a BMW M3. In June they travelled to Spa-Francorchamps to compete in a 4 Hour Night Race and duly had their first ever race win. This has been followed up by two podium places and fastest lap at Castle Combe in July.
These results are hopefully, in part, a testament to Mike’s coaching with Steve and Simon over the last year or so.

Tuition can be arranged at most major circuits throughout the UK and Northern Europe with days that can be tailored to suit your requirements.

Tuition can either be provided in your own car or Mike can provide a suitable car at extra cost.

A typical day:

Most UK track days generally run from 0900hrs to 1700hrs

A general chat over breakfast to allow me to understand what driving experience you have and what you are looking to achieve.

A talk about the circuit and specific corners.

I will drive 3 or 4 laps to show you the lines followed by you doing the same.
We then have a general chat about your driving style taking into account specific corners and how we are going to progress

What car should I use?

Any reasonable performance road car will be suitable for tutition, I will be happy to advise on specific cars etc. However, it is really important to ensure that the brakes, tyres and oil levels etc are in first class condition.

A race or track car is also idea [provided there are two seats]

We can supply a track car at additional cost.
